Should you decide you’d like to keep swinging by, I’ll be posting a new blog around midmonth every other month. Blogs will usually be about wherever my experiences, thoughts, interests, etc., went on the day(s) of writing.
As far as my short stories, poems and videos go though, these will be posted whenever I feel the works are ready to be online. At some point in the future, as my audience grows, I’ll do a survey. If enough readers prefer I send an e-mail notification out at these times, I can certainly do so. But for now, they’ll just be a happy surprise whenever people stop by and see something new.
For those who may feel posting a blog every other month isn’t enough, I’ll take the time to explain I do have other jobs and responsibilities and this leaves me with only so much free time. Therefore, I’d like to use some of it to also finish writing my first novel one of these days, work on my picture books, make up short stories/poems to post here for everyone, do research for my writing, create my quarterly newsletters, read books and write reviews about them, annoy my family and pets between it all, etc., because as entertaining as I can be (or not be at times as I have my off days, too) I don’t see this website as just about me because it never was from its inception.
First and always, it’s about my audience because I want to take you guys on all kinds of rides where not even the sky is the limit… and, someday, maybe I’ll even be able to do that full-time.

At times, there will be occasions when I’ll refer readers to websites I’ve come to appreciate (like I did with Monarch Butterfly Garden under “The Writer”) or talk about a product I’ve come to love, but it won’t be sponsored content.
If the website I link to is ever asking for money, please do not feel like I’m advocating for anyone to spend their hard-earned income there. Your money is obviously yours to do with as you please and therefore none of my business. I only wish to share what I look forward to, get excited about, is important to me, etc., and if it turns out to be of interest to you, great, and if not, that’s okay, too. We all have our own things that capture our attention.
As far as products go, the recommendations I put out there every now and then (I have to really, really love it to put the time and effort into writing about it) will always be from my own personal experiences with it/them. But please keep in mind just because a product worked well for me does not automatically mean it will be the same happy outcome for you. I do not know your situation or what you’re really looking for and only you can decide if my familiarity ended up aligning with what is best for you. If not, then chances are it is better to pass on whatever caught my eye.
At the end of the day, the whole point of my shying away from sponsored content is that I prefer everything here to grow naturally from the beginning and stay original and heartfelt to the writing I work hard at creating and improving on.

Beyond those ironed out words, I’d like to flip to the other side of them for a moment as there will also be times when things will not be so clean.
What I mean by that is there will be occasions when my writing will include swearing, inappropriate humor, etc. However, swearing will be cut short with a hyphen or asterisks will take the place of certain letters but the intended word will be clear. My wisecracks can also be questionable at times such as dark, gross, violent, etc. If these are things that will bother, and that’s okay if they do, then probably my blog isn’t going to appeal to you after all when these instances inevitably happen.
Personally, I prefer to be upfront about some of what else can be found here, and swearing and debatable humor are just more twists of the kaleidoscope that is me.

As mentioned on my homepage, there will be times when my writing will take darker turns. When this happens, whether it be on my blogs, short stories, or poems, I’ll have an all caps warning at the top of these posts for those who don’t wish to go through that door. However, should anyone miss that caution for whatever reason, the text color will change from green to red. The captions underneath the horror pictures will also change from orange to black.
These changes in color not only felt like a good way to serve as a backup indicator for the readers who just aren’t as into this genre as I am, but I liked the idea of dropping a little more red into these particular writings for those of us who are…

As far as the original pictures I take and post on my blog go, I’ll always be happy to share them.
However, I do require when they are used that attribution be given to Mimike M. Mountainwater, or whoever the caption states has taken the photograph. Please state what changes, if any, were made to the picture and give a hyperlink to whatever page the image was found on, or a link to my website’s homepage is fine as well. Commercial use is also okay provided all these things are done when our photos are recycled. Basically, just like what I do for all the images I find and use on my blog.
Thank you in advance for extending us the same respect and courtesy we give to others in using their unique works. Please do take the time to visit the Terms and Conditions under “Attributions of Our Creative Images” for more information.

As mentioned in “Blog Roots,” I’ve developed a curiosity to see how else people envision cyber dust bunnies could look within a computer program. Since this is just for fun, there is no deadline nor is it a contest so feel free to take your time.
However, this is open only to those 18 years of age or older but the skill level can start at beginner on up. If you’d like to see your cyber dust bunny posted on my website, please send your art to: mimikemmountainwater@gmail.com. Please be sure to put “Cyber Dust Bunny Pic” in the subject line of your e-mail, or it will be deleted as I do not open e-mails without them.
Your work can be in any medium you prefer; Ai images are also welcome. Please attach up to 3 illustrations per person in jpg format only. In the body of your e-mail, please state what name, if any, you’d like to have displayed with your art and, if you have one, the title of your work. If no text is preferred that’s okay, too. Also, please allow 7 business days for me to respond with a confirmation.
Please keep in mind this is just a glimpse of how your creativity will be handled. I highly recommend anyone interested to read through the Terms and Conditions under “Art Submissions” as not only are you agreeing to them when you send me your work but there are instances where your images will not be automatically posted and other important information.
Please note anything received that is not art or does not follow the art submission guidelines will be deleted. Also, you do not need to be a subscriber to my newsletters to participate.

However, if you’re interested in more of a long-term professional relationship and growing together, I realized after writing Blog 3: “An Encounter” that when the need arises on my end, I would much prefer to leave hand drawings to those who love this kind of work the way I love writing.
Therefore, again for any artist 18 years of age or older at any skill level, please provide up to 3 samples of your work in jpg format only and send it/them to: mimikemmountainwater@gmail.com.
Please make sure to include “Available to Volunteer” in the subject line of your e-mail and any names/titles that accompany your images in the body of it. If your work sings to me, I’ll contact you and we’ll go from there. Please do take the time to visit the Terms and Conditions under “Art Submissions” for further information as anyone who does not agree with them should not send me their work.
I’m looking forward to hearing from you and seeing your creations!
Please note anything received that is not art or does not follow the art submission guidelines will be deleted. In addition, you do not need to be a subscriber to my newsletters to work with me.

Starting sometime in 2025, and at least once per year thereafter, I’ll be using Rafflecopter for random giveaways.
These items will range in use, including but not limited to, books (is there really anything better?), technology, gas/gift cards, raising butterfly supplies, seeds from nonprofit organizations working to protect seed varieties, donations in your name to a nonprofit organization of the winner’s choice (subject to approval), etc. Giveaways will last for a minimum of 30 days.
When these chances to win occur, I’ll announce them on my homepage with Rafflecopter’s scoreboard of how much time is left to enter, what the prize is and entry options. If you do not agree with the Terms and Conditions of the giveaway or Rafflecopter’s, then please do not enter. The winner will be notified via e-mail and announced for one month on my homepage before everything concerning the giveaway will be removed.
Therefore, please note for any giveaway, you must be a subscriber to my newsletter to be eligible for these prizes.
My social media will not be used for these giveaways as the whole point of my giving these things out is to thank my readers for visiting my website and spending their time here. I know there are tons of options out there, and I’m flattered that I somehow made the cut. I hope I can maintain that air of whatever it was that made you all want to stay for years to come.
Finally, thank you to Marfis75, Israel Garcia, Patrick Hendry, PhotoMix Company, Rachael Gorjestani, Markus Spiske and Soledadsnp for sharing their pictures. They were exactly what I was looking for when I saw them.
